About Traffic Garden Designs

Traffic Garden Designs is a Virginia-based small business serving communities nationwide. We are the only U.S. firm focused exclusively on traffic garden design and delivery, with more design and hands-on installation experience than any other practice in the country.

Over the past eight years, our work has helped define best practices, inform public agencies, and advance understanding of traffic gardens as high-quality public installations. Our current focus is a curated library of ready-to-implement plan sets, supported by practical installation and maintenance guidance for efficient, confident delivery.

Fionnuala Quinn

Founder & Traffic Garden Designer

Fionnuala Quinn is a civil engineer and national leader in traffic garden design, with more than eight years of focused experience delivering permanent installations across the U.S. She has developed design guides, implementation strategies, and contractor-ready standards that have informed projects in schools, parks, and public spaces nationwide. Her work combines technical precision, practical constructability, and a deep commitment to helping children build biking skills safely and confidently. She especially values seeing their joy, confidence, and sense of freedom grow through play and this work.

Anna Wickstrom

Executive Assistant

Anna Wickstrom graduated from Southern New Hampshire University with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication in 2017 and supports the daily operations of Traffic Garden Designs by Finn Quinn. With a strong passion for efficiency and organization, she collaborates with the team to streamline processes, track information, and keep projects running smoothly. Anna enjoys taking care of behind-the-scenes details so the team can stay focused on their core passions and priorities.
Outside of her work, Anna sits in her creativity through drawing, poetry, and audio projects.

Skip Bean

Business Manager

Skip Bean oversees business partnerships and strategic growth for Traffic Garden Designs. He brings decades of experience in organizational leadership, financial management, and relationship building, ensuring projects are delivered successfully. Skip works closely with the team to protect work assets, support licensing success, and provide the best possible client experience. His steady operational leadership allows the design team to focus on technical excellence while building a strong, scalable foundation for nationwide growth.
